What is bAMM?

bAMM is the broadAngle Media Management system that provides tools to manage and deliver online TV.  It is composed of broadPlayer, broadManager, and broadMonitor.

What is broadPlayer?

broadPlayer is the online TV delivery system.  Most player technologies are designed to work well with only one format on one platform.  This is typically Flash or Windows Media on Internet Explorer for Windows.  This excludes potential viewers that are on other platforms, or do not have the correct browser plug-in.  Viewers don’t care about platforms, formats, codecs, etc.  The only thing that matters to them is content.  broadPlayer uses technologies that allow you to deliver your content in the best format each viewer can support.   If the viewer has logged in from a Mac running Safari, broadPlayer will detect what the viewer’s computer supports, and deliver the content using the tools available on their computer.  This will provide the best viewer experience with the tools provided.

What is broadManager?

broadManager is the online TV content management system.  You can upload and schedule your video content in a few steps using our cutting-edge technology. 

What is broadMonitor?

broadMonitor is the online TV reporting system that lets you analyze customer behavior to make good decisions regarding your network.  You can keep track of analytics data such as which video is watched the most, what time of day the video is watched the most, which ad is followed the most, etc.

Do I need to use all of the blocks of bAMM together?

Not necessarily. Using all of the blocks together will provide you with the biggest advantage in the marketplace, but each component can be integrated with other, existing systems if necessary.  If you have an existing management, analytics, or delivery system for your network, contact us to discuss integration options.

We have viewers all around the world; will they be able to watch our content with the best experience possible?

Yes.  We utilize several partner distribution networks, which enable us to deliver your content world-wide.  Additionally, the broadMonitor platform enables us to identify geographic areas that can benefit from additional servers and bandwidth, and proactively grow our network to better support our clients.

Is there an online demo of bAMM?

We do not offer a public demo of our backend technology.  Please contact us to schedule a private demo.

How do you deliver video without downloads or browser plugins?

We do use browser plugins.  When broadPlayer loads, it runs a quick set of diagnostic tests and determines the best format and encoding of content to deliver based off each viewer's configuration.  If needed, we can also recommend upgrades for a better experience.

Why should this matter?

Users don't care about technical details, they care about content. Some users will leave for another site rather than download a new plugin or answer confusing technical questions.

How scalable is your platform?

We partner with several companies to distribute and deliver our content.  As such, our platform only deals with management and scheduling information, and can scale out for networks of any size.  We also offer the ability to intelligently route traffic to partner networks in order to take advantage of minute to minute differences in speed and reliability, while minimizing cost.
